Our Collaborative

CHPI is a collaborative of California healthcare purchasers, plans, providers, and consumers. These organizations are partnering to shape CHPI's strategy and work.

Consumers

CHPI works with California consumer organizations to ensure that its healthcare performance information serves consumers who daily grapple with an array of healthcare decisions ranging from selecting a doctor or medical practice to choosing a treatment or other medical services. Consumers are represented on the CHPI Board of Directors through:

  • California Chronic Care Coalition

Purchasers

CHPI works with purchasers of health insurance and services that seek to foster better value in healthcare. Purchasers are represented on the CHPI Board of Directors through three organizations:

  • Covered California
  • Self-Insured Schools of California (SISC)
  • Pacific Business Group on Health (PBGH)

Plans

CHPI’s three founding health plans are pooling their medical claims and other data to inform Californians in their decisions to choose and use healthcare services. These three health plans are represented on the CHPI Board of Directors:

  • Blue Shield of California
  • Anthem Blue Cross
  • UnitedHealthcare of California

Providers

CHPI works with physicians, medical groups, hospitals and other providers to best ensure that its healthcare performance information accurately informs all stakeholders about the quality and affordability of California’s healthcare.  In turn, CHPI will work with healthcare providers as they apply the information to continually improve their value to those who buy and use healthcare in our State. Physicians are represented on the CHPI Board of Directors currently through one organization:

Providers: America's Physician Groups (APG)
